It describes how to obtain the domain (well, subdomain) name for free and have it pointed to your device. The big catch is your device needs to be visible from the internet - either directly or via portforwarding configured on your router. If that's not possible, freedombox provides a workaround by the means of pagekite, but I have no experience with this method. D.
