I think they are focusing way too much on the price as opposed to freedom, make a box that works, does what it was designed to do and people will buy it. If it has any binary blobs or non free software, then that is a back door or some other malicious feature. From the last video I watched, it looks like the freedom box may have some binary blobs or non free software.
