     `S' searches only in list, which (somewhat) equal to index. It doesn't
searches on current page. To compare: try to press letters in THELP. It
searches only links (not full text) in current page, but this is better,
than nothing.

     No, for me WHELP works. Though, "topic" argument (for example, "whelp
clib printf") isn't working (or may be, I don't understand its ideology?).
