I just Tested HIMEM64+EMM386 in a Texas (aka Acer) Notebook Extensa 502DX with a Pentium 266MHz with 64Mb Ram.
The purpose of the test was that it has a PCMCIA ethernet card that needs a HOLE in memory.
I used ALL M$DOS stuff, except for the test programs. My config.sys: device = c:\fdos\himem64.exe device = c:\fdos\emm386.exe noems x=cc00-cfff ...
Worked 100%, including my DOS4GW 3Mb programs. Thanks veeery much for the fine program. I will run more tests today...
Question: Why does HIMEM64 have a .EXE extention? I allways thought that a .exe device driver was more dificult? (just curious ;-) )
Alain
PS: I am really impressed, specially by the speed that you can turn up with fixes ;-)
