Hi!

I am very lucky with FreeDOS at the moment. This week it was the first
time, i have had a STABLE FreeDOS system!!!

I may tell you, which drivers i am using(latest versions of drivers):

(FreeDOS kernel from 21. Juli 2005)
himem.exe
udma2.sys
duse.exe (USB support)
ctmouse.exe
atapicdd.sys
shsucdx.exe
ctmouse
doslfn
(4DOS)

The main programs:

mpxplay
qv
NDN (Necromancer DOS Navigator)

The only really "bad thing" is, that freecom doesn't have real LFN
support. But we have 4DOS...Maybe someone could ask for re-distribution
of it in the FreeDOS distro?

My opinion for FreeDOS 1.0: Every publicity is good! And it should point
out the advantages and features. And all of us should make publicity,
maybe tell some (virtual) newspapers about it etc.

An example: I am using WinXP beside FreeDOS. And a very very big
advantage is FreeDOS+Mpxplay. Why? In my configuration Mpxplay
automaticly starts playing. I don't need to shut down the pc like in
WinKXP. I have only to hit "ESC", and the computer shut down. Who (with
Windows or Linux) can say this?

Thank you Blair Campbell, for the distro! Your work is a important
contribution!

Bye, Flo

PS: The latest version of DOSLFN fixes a big bug with Mpxplay!

Hi. I just thought that I'd start a topic before I left for two weeks
about a FreeDOS 1.0 release. It has been suggested that I release my
Beta 9 Enhanced Release distro as a FreeDOS 1.0 pre-release distro. For one, this would mean that it would get tested more frequently,
also it would (possibly) encourage people to get the unfinished tools
done, or fix any bugs that unfinished tools have.
