Hello Mateusz of FDUPDATE and Rugxulo of rugxulo.googlepages.com,

I have been told that I can help alot by assisting you.
I have been given a link to the page but a list of files doesn't
really tell me what to do.

Looks like I need to get the files from somewhere and make a zip
with all the appropriate parts in a specific format.
Is this a list of ones that are left, ones that are done?
What files are needed, whats the format of the zip files etc?
Where do I put them when I am done, upload etc.

I know you are busy and I appreciate you taking your time to me me exactly
what you would like me to do would allow me to help you better.
A description with a little details so I can do what is needed correct
the first time.
If I do the wrong thing or do it incorrectly that makes more work for everyone.

Thank you again for your time,

Adam Norton

Hi Usul,

to collect packages for freedos 1.1, you would work with
Mateusz of FDUPDATE and Rugxulo of rugxulo.googlepages.com
because they know which packages we already have and which
apps have updates for which we still need a package. The
work is mostly fetching the updated programs from the web
and then putting them into well-structured zip files :-).

You do not need an official okay to help, but of course if
you start doing things without telling others, you might
be doing work that somebody else is already doing elsewhere.

Packages can either come in combined zips or in zips split
into binary and source variant. If you want to make a zip
in source variant, make sure that you include the docs and
all files which cannot be made by compiling. This means:
Do not forget to include config files, for example. If you
want to make a zip in the binary variant, it still needs
to include the docs but you can omit the whole source sub
directory. A combined zip just has everything of 1 program.

I would suggest to collect packages of the BASE programs first:
Versions: www.freedos.org/freedos/software/
Existing update ZIPs: www.viste-family.net/mateusz/fdupdate/wip/
More info about versions, some updates: rugxulo.googlepages.com

Eric
