As far as I remember, the ftp-client style SMBCLIENT from Samba is the only Samba thing ported to DOS yet, but that of course differs from running in the background and giving a drive letter as the proprietary MSCLIENT does :-) You could use Samba and SHSUCDX driver family code for your project.
