This is a great idea. Basically, it would be like the old DOS utility Memory Shift, which incidentally inspired Andy Hertzfeld to create a little utility called "Switcher" for the Mac to do this same job on that platform before the MultiFinder came along. Perfect! The minimalist nature of DOS would easily lend itself to making something like that work and work fairly well.
