definitively not. these are bugs, and they should be fixed.

unfortunately bug bug reporting is often not to clear.
adding 'echo on' and you could report which command failed.

add a link to your configuration, and the reproduction of the bug is
hugely easier.

absolutely. it's the user facing interface. if it crashes, the whole
OS crashes. no good.

at present, it looks like the 'new' command (and kernel?)  has a couple of bugs,
that were not present in 2006, and Bart has only found 80% of them.
not good.  same case might be valid for the gcc16 kernel. who knows?

I prefer a stable kernel and command over a correct compiled, but
buggy one every day.
