All the more reason why trying to get FreeDOS to boot natively on modern x86 systems could still be worthwhile in the foreseeable future. So do any of you have the expertise and interest to cooperate on muefircate, or at least explore its potential further? Or do you know of any people who could? I have the feeling that bringing attention to meufircate, at least making people aware that such a project even exists and is in development, would already help in attracting possible contributors. It would be good to initially limit the scope: getting FreeDOS to boot on modern UEFI-based x86 systems that lack a CSM. Let's keep things like full VGA compatibility or other hardware-level compatibility out of scope for now. I believe that could be achieved in some form later, building on top of this. Does that make sense?
