I started to write an Apple ][ emu in ASM but my CPU code is braindead. 
There is "apl2em" which has a 65C02 core, but that's some ancient masm 
code with heavy macros.  C's a lot easier to find (I have source to 
several cores with MIT licenses) but you're going to need a mid-range 486 
minimum even for a system as simple as an Apple ][ when doing that.
