I fully agree with you that the kernel should be thoroughly tested. I just 
think that including it in a test release is a good way of having it tested 
before some serious bugs propagate to a FreeDOS release.

My point of view on this is that the current master branch kernel is in a 
better shape than the release kernel. It fixes quite some serious bugs. So I 
strongly suggest that we try getting these fixes into the distribution. But if 
the general consensus is that the master branch kernel should not be included 
in the test release I will revert the change.

I do not know for sure why PerditionC has not released an official new version 
yet. I guess he is working on some share and the Win3.1 related stuff. Perhaps 
he answers here what he thinks is still missing.
