Hi All,

The Official FreeDOS Download and Update Repositories are now browsable in
multiple languages.

This would have been available at launch this past Sunday. However, as it turns
out, there was some bizarre behavior by the IBIBLIO httpd server when providing
HTML files with UTF-8 encoding. That limitation has been overcome by
implementing UTF-8 to HTML Entity remapping inside FDRepo. The re-mapper has 3
states.

        0=Off: Obviously no remapping.
        1=Named; UTF-8 is remapped to Named HTML Entities like “à” when
possible and falling back to a Value if not named.
        2=Value: UTF-8 is remapped to a value like “&x2540;” and is not
currently in use.

My Unofficial server is configured as 0. The Official one on IBIBLIO is set to
1.

After having FDRepo rebuild the HTML pages using the re-mapper, all looks as
expected. At least for me on a Mac using FireFox.

:-)

Jerome
