This bug would be best reported to <[email protected]>, < https://github.com/andrewwutw/build-djgpp>, jwt27 at < https://github.com/andrewwutw/build-djgpp/pull/25/files/a85725db074d5abf9e388d2fffa1f470d0535557..9a41eab58311b0e5459757f2f0a98d2733e37a26>, <https://gitlab.com/tkchia/gcc-ia16>, or Andris Pavēnis < [email protected]>. They're the ones that seem to care most for gcc on DOS.
I assume you only tested under FreeDOS. The version isn't specified. Maybe also test under other FreeDOS versions, MS-DOS 3.3/4.01/5.0/6.22/7.1, SvarDOS or other notable DOSes. What you're finding is a bug in djgpp might be a bug elsewhere or a bad assumption based on MS-DOS 5.0/6.22. -L
