agreed (as if I have anything to say..LOL).

however I don't think it makes sense to put anything from Arkady's kernel into the CVS kernel.
Let Lucho host the kernel sources, or let Bart (Tom? Jeremy?) create a branch in FreeDOS CVS server for Arkady.

at some point diff files have to be offered against current kernel 2035 sources.
those would be huge, and some expert has to review them before committing.
it's no use sending 1000 small patches. Only huge diff's will do now.
Once all of Arkady's coding is reviewed and imported, then patches can appear again.
but for now, it looks like we have several versions:
*kernel 2035 (latest official)
*kernel 2035A (CVS kernel, occasionally maintained by Kenneth Jeremy Davis)
*kernel 2035+ -TOM
*kernel 2035+ -ARKADY

I'll happily use the most advanced version (Arkady's probably), but the kernel in the freedos distribution will remain 2035.
Some REALLY critical bugs may cause me to deliver a 2035a, but that will be Jeremy's doing, in that case.

In other words:
*kernel 2035 - latest stable (recommended)
*kernel 2035A - only essential fixes, looks like Eric now found some FORMAT/bootsector issues.
*kernel 2035+ -TOM - more or less private kernel development, with hopefully occasionally sometimes a patch to the mailinglist
*kernel 2035+ -ARKADY - experimental kernel (because not tested in-the-wild)

and yes, there's a good chance that Arkady's version will be 2036 in time, after someone like Lucho reviewed it.

end-of-discussion for me, I need to get work done before people start to blame me for talking instead of releasing software :)

Arkady, keep up the good work!

Bernd
