My fault. It happened that I applied it on a kernel-tar from just
before the 2035-release which appearantly was not in good shape.

I now applied it on the "official" 2035-source (ke2035src) and
Eric's patch does NOT break mkdir. But it also did not help anything
to bug 1753. Nor the 3-line patch or the 2-line proposal by Bart
did improve anything here. When logging in to NetWare there
is an error by login.exe that it cannot find its msg-file (which is present)
and then it halts (with or without showing some invalid opcode data).
So it seams we still cannot shake of 1753 which has been with us
since kernel 2027.
