FreeDOS has a problem with extended DPBs, which causes problems with XMSDSK (DOSLFN thinks the RAMdisk is FAT32). It also does not support the Set Extended Error function, which causes problems with Volkov Commander (disk error on blank drives). Here is a FreeDOS patch and kernel (build 2034, NASM 0.98.38, Borland C++ 3.1, TLINK 7.01, 386) to fix them.

It *is* a bit old, but I asked this before and got no answer at all. Please, does anyone know about it? LFN are important to work under dosemu (I had to do a little gimm just to unzip this new kernel without reverting to Window$)

Kernel 2035a has been tagged and uploaded to sourceforge. This is primarily a bugfix only release, see docs/history.txt for details.
There are still some important changes in the dev series that I have not yet merged over (such as the country.sys work, sys, ...) but there have been a few useful bug fixes and I wanted a stable release with them.
