I am using DOSLFN to run a program compiled with DJGPP. I have put both DOSLFN and my application on a bootable FreeDOS floppy disk, and I see some very strange behaviour.
If I do not load DOSLFN, the program starts up fairly quickly. If I start DOSLFN, however, the floppy sits and grinds for an additional *two minutes* before the program starts up. I have tried all the available switches on DOSLFN, and the DOSLFNMS version, all to no avail. One thing which I have discovered is that if I disable write access in DOSLFN with the w- switch, I get a "write access disallowed" error, even though if I do not supply that switch I do not see any write accesses in the status page (but nearly four hundred read accesses). Has anyone else seen this? I'm at something of a loss for other things to try out, and I need to have LFN support for this application if I am to avoid a great lot of tedious renaming...
