I have installed FreeDOS is many 64 bit processors, never had any problem. IMHO the important part is "drive not ready", this is probably a dirver issue. Remember that all DOSes use disks through the bios, so it is the bios responsability to do that...
In fact I noteiced that as a mater of fact most bioses are getting better, MSI uses DMA for bios access, with 36Mb/s!!!
