Greetings FreeDOSers,

I'm having a strange problem with FreeDOS's menu system, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. It seems that, no matter what I use for my menu items, FreeDOS never wants to let me select the first item. For example:

 MENUDEFAULT=1,4
 MENU 1 - None
 MENU 2 - Broadcomm 57xx
 MENU 3 - HP Kayaks & VirtualBox (AMD PCNet32)
 MENU 4 - HP 100VG AnyLAN
 MENU 5 - 3COM 3C905 10/100
 MENU 6 - Intel EtherExpress Pro 100
 MENU 7 - Intel EtherExpress Pro 1000 MT

When I boot with this in the config.sys, I get ALL 7 menu items, and the top one, "None", is selected. **However**, below that, FreeDOS tells me:

 Select from Menu [234567], or press [ENTER]

Notice that the first one is missing. Also, if I use the arrow keys to scroll down and then scroll back up, FreeDOS will NOT let me scroll back up to the first menu item again. It stops at menu item #2.

I've googled around for some howto's about the menu system, but I've been unable to find anything that describes, in detail, how FreeDOS decides what is and is not a selectable menu item.

Is this the defined behavior of FreeDOS, or am I missing something?

- Joe
