I can set on all of my Windows machines that have a true serial port till easily 115k baud and it works that way just fine, do this currently for a lot of IoT work. I suspect you rather have a hardware issue that is preventing you from achieving a higher speed, maybe whatever serial to Bluetooth converter you are using. What is the actual UART in your system? On what port address?
