Thanks for the response - and to those for my other questions. It does seem that in RHEL6 they've upgraded to 0.7.16 so no need for a bug report.
We're running 5.6 so opted to build from one of the later source rpms on the freeipmi website and it now works fine. Thanks again for your help.
