Hello Chris,

switching to git may be a good idea. Nonetheless, CVS problems of
SourceForge seem to be a poor reason for the switch: SourceForge is
likely to get CVS working again soon. I will need to update all the
hyperlinks in the wiki that link to CVS; many development pages link
to CVS for easy viewing of the related code. I can imagine some
benefits of switching to git, given git is more modern than CVS and
some SF projects have switched away from CVS (not always to git), but
just please consider that there are also associated costs.
