That won't work. Don't forget that FreeMWare (and VMWare) *doesn't
actually run on top of linux* !!! FreeMWare runs on the bare hardware.
On every quantum, FreeMWare switches away from linux and maintains its
own system. The only thing that linux is used for is resource
management:
linux reserves, for instance, pieces of memory for FreeMWare which
FreeMWare can then use in its own quantum without fear of overwriting
something.
This also means that FreeMWare will not work on LinuxVM -- no way.
In order to run FreeMWare, you need to run on a platform that actually
virtualises the CPU. (note that VMWare cannot even run on top of itself

proof-of-concept ;)).
