ncurses ui

I tried out the ncurses UI, it doesn't work
for me... :-/  I use the ncurses library
that comes with RedHat (5.9).  I just get
an empty screen, pressing ctrl-l doesn't help.
When I press lots of keys, I get "keyboard
buffer full" messages from bochs.

I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact
cause, but I suspect that ncurses hooks the
SIGALRM timer.... though I can't explain
all of the symptoms like that.

Does anybody have this same problem ?
