Agreed............, but two things:
1) some of us don't have the cvs logs in front of us
(especially those whom just download a snapshot--which
as Ramon said in another thread, is quite old)
2) it is just easier to have that information in the
code...............especially when there may be
overlapping patches to sort through.
As for knowing when it was added not being helpful, I
think that may be what Ramon was getting at when he
suggested including the name of the commenter in the
comment.  This way we can not only quickly check in
retrospect when the code got there, but also whom to
go ask about it.
