I think it was a guy called Lee Daniel Crocker who not been active on
the lists for a long time. I am unsure if anyone has been working on it
since he left off.

I would actually like to try to better organise the Freenet
documentation. I propose doing this by placing it in CVS, and authoring
it in, say, Lyx, Latex, or Docbook (I prefer Lyx, a nice, extremely
flexible, graphical document processor which generates Latex, but I know
that Docbook is gaining in popularlity).

I propose creating one large "Freenet User Manual" which contains all
relevant information, split into sections. I could set up something
which periodically regenerates HTML, postscript, and PDF copies of such
a document from CVS.

It could be structured something like:

Introduction
  - Aims
  - Philosophy
Quick Start
  - Installation
  - Command Line Interface
    - Requesting
    - Inserting
  - FProxy
    - Requesting
    - Inserting
Architecture
  - Basic Principles
  - Security
    - Key types
Appendix
  - Protocol Specification
  - Related Work
  - Future Plans

I am sure I am leaving out stuff but you get the general idea.

Ian.
