Hello freenet experts,
I tried to insert an SSK, but it didn't work. I will paste in the commands
and output i got to show what i did. I'm sorry if i am filling up your list
with an error on my part, but if this is the case can someone please help me
out with the proper procedure? :) Thanks. I am using freenet 0.3.6 with
Sun JRE 1.3 on Windows 98.
Ok first off, I inserted an SVK with the following command:
finsert -htl freenet:SVK@ test.txt
which gave me: (the top part of the output is cut off because the dos box
in win98 wouldnt show me the whole thing, sorry!)
<start of output>
A Internal message was received from null.
A message was sent to tcp/127.0.0.1:25668.

Inserted Key :
freenet:SVK@-2FSQUBD2W-XEFKkikrkR63YmmUQAgE,Bv6LSnw2mNpf0tbuyHCgHw
SVK private key: APSDhJO9QvFFzfy2XpiWOccghUGQKUew09OVa0FJ
Hang on to this key if you wish to update it in the future, or if you wish
to
insert subspace keys (SSKs) under this SVK root.
<end output>
after this, i can access the file via
freenet:CHK@i84iJxBxILAWo8yEMK9HnMAq774HAwE,CrUAJ-M5-rfPuwWNKdRCQg
but not the SVK "Inserted Key" value. (if this is supposed to happen, then
i guess it doesn't matter)
next i tried this command to insert the SSK:
finsert -htl 10
freenet:SSK@/tests/aregood/butbad,APSDhJO9QvFFzfy2XpiWOccghUGQKUew09OVa0FJ
and it just gave me this:
Freenet Core running on 1194 (build 161)
and stayed there for a couple of minutes until i hit control-c
so if anyone knows what's going on here, please let me know.
What i wanted to do was make a web page on freenet, which obviously needs a
name that doesn't change with every update. If anyone has any good ideas
about how to do this, or has done it before, please contact me at
