Thanks for the info, Thats a good point about Auth vers. Accounting. Going with that I do have it setup to use PAM, so in this case its using /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow, but because it will Auth in debug mode and not is norm mode. That's got me puzzled. The only difference in the two modes is debug displays all the info, right? How could that change the way it accesses the password file?
