A search through the changelog, and the archives of this list resulted in
nothing, so I'm asking it here.

I became the admin for a local ISP about 8 months ago. It's running
FreeRADIUS 0.2 (old, I know.) -- now, this ISP has approx 10k users. Of
those, 6k are MD5 passwords, and the rest are DES. Now, FreeRADIUS seems
to not have a problem with this for the most part ... but every week or
so, our phone lines get flooded with people who can no longer log on, I
restart radius, and all is well again. Now, the *only* accounts the stop
working when this happens, are ones with DES passwords. MD5 continues to
work just fine.

Now, I am upgrading to 0.6 tonight. The question I have, is can I can
expect this to fix the problem, or should I be looking elsewhere?

FreeRADIUS is configured to cache the passwd and shadow files, if that
makes any difference.

Thanks,
Justin Wheeler
