You might want to use Cistron Radius (which Freeradius was based on) until
this problem is fixed in Freeradius http://www.radius.cistron.nl/
Unless you want to use Mysql or Ldap, etc. as your Authentication/Authorization mechanism.

I think most of the people that are using Freeradius are using alternate Authentication/Authorization
mechanisms like Mysql and LDAP, which mostly work, so
the "Group" check problem and Realms with Unix passwd/group files has not been that big an issue.
(but it has been reported a few times over the last several months to this list.).
