Ok list, I got it. For those of you who will have the same problem, there's a parameter in eap.conf "private_key_password". See that it is uncommented and that it contains the right password. Thanks just the same.

Dear list, I've got Freeradius 1.0.1 working with openssl-0.9.7-stable-SNAP-20041028. When I start Freeradius it asks me for a PEM pass phrase. Can you please indicate what I could do to supply this pass phrase in a configuration file? Do I need to re-create the certificates to be able to do this? One last thing, when I run radiusd -xx through a wrap-up script to load openssl library path it still runs in the foreground? Even a radiusd -s runs in the foreground. Is this normal behaviour? Shouldn't radiusd -f or -X (since the latter is equivalent to -fsxx) be used if you require radiusd to remain in the foreground?
