Hello, How does a radius server communicate with billing server. Basically i want to know in a prepaid application,how will the radius server get the maximum duration that can be allowed to the user based on the amount of money remaining in his account or prepaid card.
Are all the radius servers attached with billing server ?? If a voip gateway uses radius server for accounting/authentication and authorization, can it be assumed that radius server will give all duration details to the voip gateway and the gateway does not have to explicitly contact the billing server ? I am stuck at this flow regarding the interaction of the gateway and radius server. I am looking at prepaid and post paid applications where the user gets authenticated/authorized and depends on the radius server to get the information before any new call is made.
