Hi folks, I have some Aironet 1100s and a WLSE on eval loan and am trying to make sense of how Cisco's WDS (and the WLSE!) use RADIUS to authenticate themselves. We got user authentication going, but the infrastructure devices are a bit confusing.
I dont have a WLSE so I cant say how that impacts this, but at least for me, using APs set up to do WDS, I needed to change the default eap type in eap.conf to be leap. That was the big thing that made it start working.
I defined a RADIUS user for my WDS slave APs, per:
myslaveap Auth-Type := Accept, User-Password == "mypassword"
Mine look like:
testwdsap User-Password == "testingabc"
And set my WDS "slave" APs up per... (IOS config:)
wlccp ap username myslaveap password 0 mypassword
Mine's the same other than I have the password encryption set up.
client XXXXXX { secret = foo shortname = mymasterap nastype = cisco }
I've got nastype=other
