my apologies, I searched hard but could not find an answer, and think
it might be simple.
I'm running freeradius 1.0.1 running, created user "testy" with pass "tester" in /etc/raddb/users, also using default radiusd.conf and clients files logged in as root, ran /usr/sbin/radiusd -X then... radtest testy tester localhost:1812 testing123 this returns nothing- it will sit for hours if I wait that long. But if I kill the radiusd process, it gives me the normal feedback- see output below. Interestingly- there is nothing in /var/log/radius.log ! Some backgroud-- I've successfully configured freeradius 0.9.3 with mysql on Fedora core 1 before, so it's not like I'm a complete noob- all I'm trying to do here is get it working with the users file on Fedora Core 3. Is there something new in FC3 or freeradius 1.0.1 that i'm missing? I've tried: 1. 127.0.0.1, localhost, the dns name of the server to (all added to the clients.conf file) 2. Complete install of FC3 from scratch as well as rpm installs, yum installs and compiling freeradius from scratch. 3.
