See the winbind documentation? You can try running ntlm_auth from the command line. If it doesn't work there, no amount of poking FreeRADIUS will make it work. You can also try seeing "with_ntdomain_hack" in the MSCHAP module, as suggested in the debug output. There's a *reason* these kinds of messages are in the debug output.
