Hello FreeRDP community,

This is to announce that the FreeRDP 1.0.1 bug fix release is likely going
to happen as soon as this week. Even though it hasn't been long since the
1.0 release, a lot has been fixed in the meantime and 1.0.1 is going to be
appreciated for that. The other reason is that I've been working on
addressing issues blocking the inclusion of FreeRDP and Remmina in Ubuntu
main:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freerdp/+bug/673925
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/freerdp/+bug/925657
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/remmina/+bug/673908

Those issues are mostly related to certificate validation, so if FreeRDP
does not validate certificates properly, Remmina is affected as well. I've
been improving the certificate validation to address issues which have been
pointed out in the above bug reports, and we should be able to meet
Canonical's standard very soon. Once this is done, I will release FreeRDP
1.0.1 and Remmina 1.0 such that a release which meets Canonical's standards
is available for inclusion in Ubuntu 12.04 before the feature freeze date
of February 16th.

Best regards,
- Marc-Andre
