None of my business, I'm just an end user but my two cents on this:

freerdp stable is supported in debian stable (squeeze).
freerdp latest unstable (as in "under development") code is supported by debian 
sid and wheezy, the upcoming stable.

Seems very consistent and acceptable to me.
