Anyway I would say that the installports plugin is a bit useless as it is, or better, it doesn't do well what it is supposed to do: IIRC, we don't delete build-dependencies once we're finished, but I really think we should.
To handle this case, I install also the pkg_rmleaves port then I run it with customscript.
