hmm, not sure what's going on here as your orig is newer than your inflated, which it shouldn't be:

ls -lrt rh.*

-rw-rw-r-- 1 nandita nandita 3202704 Jun 29 15:53 rh.smoothwm.nofix
-rw-rw-r-- 1 nandita nandita 3203048 Jun 29 15:57 rh.inflated.nofix

-rw-rw-r-- 1 nandita nandita 3203048 Jun 29 16:29 rh.inflated
-rw-rw-r-- 1 nandita nandita 533415 Jun 29 16:30 rh.defect_labels
-rw-rw-r-- 1 nandita nandita 533415 Jun 29 16:30 rh.defect_chull
-rw-rw-r-- 1 nandita nandita 533415 Jun 29 16:30 rh.defect_borders
-rw-rw-r-- 1 nandita nandita 4717916 Jun 29 19:39 rh.orig
-rw-rw-r-- 1 nandita nandita 3203358 Jul 5 17:49 rh.sphere

try reprocessing it with -all (instead of -autorecon1, etc..) from the beginning, as that's the recommended processing stream now (since it rarely fails on reasonable data)

Hi,
I came across an error in the third stage of reconstruction using
freesurfer. The images, scripts etc are at

space/megraid/42/ACE/PILOTDATA/DATA_PROCESS

The recon log says that recon-all exited with errors and stopped at Surf
Reg rh. I am a new user and was hoping that you could help me out with the
same. Also, I do know that the inflated brain is not ideal but
nevertheless wanted to complete the reconstruction to get a feel of it.
This is what the error log says
MRISreadVertexPosition(smoothwm): could not open file ../surf/rh.smoothwm
MRISreadOriginalProperties: could not read surface file smoo

Thanks in advance for any help in this regard.
