I believe I discovered the problem. I had accidently linked to the 8-bit .img files for the subjects instead of the 16-bit ones. I've rerun autorecon1 and everything looks good.
Any thoughts on the parcellated pial shot I sent? It doesn't look correct to me, but maybe I'm wrong.
