Hi, I would like to understand the issues of sampling resolution for the fdmdv modem.
What would be the impact of using 10 or 12 bits of resolution for the audio signal before passing it on to the fdmdv demodulator? The max dynamic range would of course shrink to 60 -72 dB, but 60 dB still seems a good number to me. What are your thoughts on the propagated errors from math, if the sampling would be 10-12 instead of 16 bits?
