Hi Codec2 folks and John,I am writing an FCC comment on the proceeding to allow Yaesu DMR/TRBO, on behalf of the Codec2 project. It doesn't oppose DMR/TRBO, but it makes a bunch of points about how FCC should allow software modems and codecs on the air, and the need to be able to change them without a Special Testing Authority and other administrative overhead, and the fact that the distinction in the FCC rules between digital communications and radiotelephone is no longer valid.
FCC's deadline is the end of the month, so I have to do this quickly. Sorry I have been busy with other stuff until now.
If you'd like to review what I'm writing before it's submitted, please email me directly (not the list). This is essentially a legal filing so some concentration will be required.
Thanks
Bruce
