I'm planning to make the Hamvention finally for 2013. Let me know what kind of
time slots you need filled.. I'll be available for at least half the Convention.

Subject: [Freetel-codec2] Getting more ambitious at Hamvention 2013

Hamvention is about half a year away. Last year they claim "almost 25000"
people attended. Since we now have something that we can actually give to hams
who aren't rocket scientists, the FreeDV software, I think our involvement at
Hamvention should be larger than last year.

We will always have a space at the TAPR table, and we should make
use of it. However, to help us reach the more general HF operator
population, I've gotten us our own space in the arena. This is the
prime traffic location at Hamvention and guarantees that we'll be
noticed in a big way if we don't botch it.

I'd like to maximize this opportunity by having professional signage
and literature, well-edited video, and I'd like to rent a really big
video display that would be positioned above head level where it can
be seen across the arena. This will require raising some money, but
    not too much.

I think it would help if we were able to sell wiring harnesses for
common radios on site, so I'll be looking for a partnership to help
    with this.

Staffing the booth is always a problem and we'll need more folks
than last year. I am also inclined to hire booth staff so that we
have guaranteed minimum staffing for the entire conference. If you
know anyone near Dayton who could work, please direct them to me.

    Thanks

    Bruce
