If you aren't aware already, The Codec2 Project will be setting up a booth at
the upcoming Dayton Hamvention, May 17-19th in Dayton, Ohio. The Codec2
Project will be in booth HA-12. Coinciding with Dayton will be the formal first
release of FreeDV , the FDMDV+Codec2 cross-platform HF digital voice software
currently in beta: http://freedv.org/tiki-index.php
To ensure visibility, we are working on a booth setup that includes a large
projector screen back display to show live demos of FreeDV. To do this we need
to use a projector with a bright enough output to display in the bright arena.
We believe a 3000 or 4000 lumen projector is the minimum we'd need, but the
brighter the better.
This is where we need you, the community. In researching projector rentals we
haven't been able to locate an affordable projector in the Dayton area for the
required time period, considering our volunteer budgets. If any of you own,
have legitimate access to or know someone who has a digital projector or in the
3000/4000+ lumen output range that we could borrow for the Hamvention booth, we
would most indebted to your assistance. Bruce Perens has agreed to be our point
contact for the projector, and we will gladly coordinate shipping to/from
Dayton for the time period.
We want to ensure FreeDV and the open-source Codec2 Project has a strong
showing at the Dayton Hamvention, and a high-lumen projector would ensure it
has a strong visual presence. Please contact me directly if you are able to
loan one for the May 17th-19th time period, and I'll ensure you receive proper
credits in the booth for your generous equipment loan.
