Hi all,

I've just managed to get the SM1000 to store settings using its internal
flash.

This includes things like having a preferred start-up mode so the unit
can default to running in FreeDV 1600 for example.

There is a factory reset procedure: hold down BACK while powering on.
It'll beep for one second and flash the SYNC LED.  Let go and it'll boot
up normally.

There is a somewhat buggy firmware image here:

I'm aware of a bug where the tones get "stuck" for a bit, I'll try to
sort that out later, not at this hour of the night.
