Instead of cloning the device (which might best be done by hiring the same original company), you could blow out the design by making a 1U panel and putting manly switches, lights, and plugs on there. (Real Hams use relay racks) hee...
I recently pulled the circuit board out of the case and threw the case away, as I got tired of opening it, and the speaker and mic are nothing to write home about.
