Hi Danilo

I find the F7 at 216 MHz gets too hot, it doesnt meet my thermal envelope. I think it's more over an overvolted overclocked core . But at 168 MHz there is plenty to go around...

The FPU is vastly better than the F4 as you say. The pipeline stalls are far fewer, everything goes fast, multiple issue etc...

I think many people dont learn to use their linker file (it isn't simple)  and set parts of their data/prog in TCM. makes a difference doesnt it !

How's the errata sheet looking on H7 silicon ? was long last time I looked.

Hi,

@Glen: why is 216 Mhz BS? The UHSDR UI runs happily with 216 Mhz.  Would
be interested to learn about your experiences.

The F7 indeed is roughly twice as fast due to extensive caches (which
also requires more careful handling of certain operations) and a much
better FPU.

The 100LQFP case pins between STM32F405 and STM32F765  are bascially on
one side shifted by one pin but this not a big deal since you have to
design a new board anyways.

But if you want fast, really fast, go with the STM32H7: basically same
porting effort and either uses much less power (at same frequency) or
runs much faster (at 400 Mhz).

H7 and F7 have roughly the same pinout.
