Hi All,

FYI, I've now completed the hardware design for a simplified, compacted
SM1000. Because it's intended to be used inside other equipment it does not
have the power supplies or the isolated interfaces. In the end I kept the
F4 and unless I have screwed up the pinning it should be binary compatible
with the SM1000. Overall size is now 30 mm square, with double-sided
assembly. It's aimed at hams who build their own rigs, not big radio
manufacturers.

Schematics and a couple of pretty pics are on this EEVBlog post:

When I've got it finalised and generated the manufacturing files I will
release it under the TAPR open hardware license like the SM1000.

Unless anyone spots any major errors I will probably order some (bare)
boards in the next week or so. I am happy to add some to my Chinese fab
order if anyone else is interested.

@ Rick Barnich and David Rowe, as the original designers I'm happy to
populate and post a board if you're interested.

Richard
