Thanks Bjarne and Paul for the reply. I seem to have things working but in all honesty, can't say that I know what I did to make it happen. Changed too many things to remember and I should probably start over from scratch or I'll not learn what's going on. Ever get in this perdicament?? Anyway, I took a example from the PHP3 book by Medinets that writes to MySql and it works well but it so slow. The app is really simple, just uses a form to add state names to a database, asks if you want to do more and redisplays the form with the database entries in a table. Any ideas at to what to look for that can be causing the response to be so slow. Again, I'm so new at php it is pathetic and don't have a clue on how to debug this stuff. Again,thanks.
